Designed by master-bassist Stuart Zender of Jamiroquai, the Ashdown SZ-FUNK-FACE-VU Twin Dynamic Filter pedal doesn't just plant a smooth funk-factory at your feet, but complete sonic control. The idea was to build the ultimate bass filter: an adaptable monster of a filter pedal complete with a clean and clear layout and set of fuss-free controls, which in the tight form of this signature offering, is exactly what we've got. From subtle filtering to full-force 'funk in your face' auto wah, the Ashdown SZ-FUNK-FACE-VU does it all. Via the set of three control pots and two footswitches, this stompbox can be dialled in every which way. Hit the Face footswitch to engage some extra drive and hit the Funk footswitch to toggle the dynamic filters on and off; tweak the Face and Funk pots to set the intensity of both effects before using the Level pot to set the output volume and, to finish, you get a satisfying, vintage-vibed VU metre planted in the middle of the control panel, flanked by a light-up 'S' and 'Z' so you know which section is active and when. This pedal can be powered using any standard 9 Volt DC power supply.
